Integrity Ed Psych Solutions
My passion is working with families and students who are Deaf/Hard of Hearing (D/HH). This passion for me began in High School when I began taking dual-enrollment classes in American Sign Language (ASL) at one of the local colleges. While I did not know at that time what I wanted to do as a career, I knew somehow it needed to involve ASL.
I then attended Central Michigan University for my undergraduate studies. I majored in Psychology and dual-minored in Legal Studies and American Sign Language. During my time at CMU, I began to narrow down my focus and realized I wanted to work with the D/HH population in some capacity within the school system. This interest charted my path to attending Gallaudet University for my graduate studies. While there, I obtained my Masters Degree in Developmental Psychology (M.A.) followed by a Specialist Degree in School Psychology (Psy. S.) while specializing in Deafness.
I am now in my 11th year as a school psychologist working it the public schools. Throughout my time working in the public schools, I have learned that sometimes there are barriers present that can limit what the public school system can provide for families.
All of this is what drove me to begin Integrity Ed Psych Solutions, LLC. My goal is to be able to provide a bridge between families and their schools, whether it is to give guidance to families on where to begin, offer school-related supports (e.g., counseling or executive function training) that may not be available at your local school, or even try to help expedite the evaluation process by conducting comprehensive psychoeducational evaluations that parents can provide to their child's school. In addition, due to my specialty in deafness, I have advanced training and expertise in working with this specialized population that is above and beyond what most general school psychologists in the public schools have, while also being the only school psychologist in the greater Tampa Bay region with this unique skill set.
My Mission
My goal, both while working in the public school system as well as privately, is to help your child succeed. I provide services to help parents at home with understanding your child's unique needs and how to promote positive home environments to nurture your child's growth; psychoeducational evaluations to discover your child's cognitive, academic, social/emotional/behavioral, and adaptive strengths and needs; counseling services to help your child overcome school-related challenges including, but not limited to, anxiety, social skill deficits, anger, etc.; trainings to advance skill set of practitioners when working with D/HH students; and much more!
